On February 28, 2005, AK Steel/Armco retirees held their 44th Annual Florida Retirees' Reunion in Sarasota.  James Wainscott, president and CEO for AK Steel, addressed the retirees attending this reunion.  The focus of his speech was updating retirees on the financial health of AK Steel, noting the Company's return to profitability, improved customers' relations, rising raw material costs, and projecting a profitable year in 2005.  He addressed the one issue that was on the retirees' mind - their health care benefits.  Wainscott said it was his strong desire to continue to meet the Company's promise because it was the "Right thing to do."   About 360 retirees attended the luncheon, many from the Middletown Works.  

We are located approximately 3.5 miles west of Interstate 75 (Exit 32) Middletown Exit.  Our Union Hall is located on Crawford Street across from AK Steel's Main Entrance Parking Lot and Plant Offices.  To get to our Union Hall from Interstate 75, travel west on Roosevelt Blvd (Route 122) to AK Steel's Main Entrance (left side of road).  Turn left into the AK Steel Main Entrance off Roosevelt Blvd. and follow road to Crawford Street, (first and only street to your right ).  Turn right on to Crawford.  Our Union Hall is the only building to your left as you proceed toward a set of tunnels.
